Using the library catalog to find books, videos, etc.

You can use the library catalog to find books on your topic. The catalog uses Library of Congress Subject Headings, which may be found in detail in:
REF 025.49 L61 Library of Congress Subject Headings or on a Web site where you can search for subject headings.

Because there are so many subject headings, and so many possible arrangements of subdivisions (e.g., “Developmentally disabled children -- United States -- Life skills guides” is a single heading), the keyword search in the library catalog may be the easiest search to use.
