The easiest way to search for books about a historical event is to use the Keyword search in the Library catalog. Usually a combination of key words will find one or more books on the subject. For example, a Keyword search for "American Revolution" finds many books in Chemeketa's library. Once you find a book that looks promising, click on the title and look at the Subjects listed near the bottom of the record; if you click on a subject, you will find additional books on that topic.
Choose an appropriate title and click on it. The screen that appears will have information about the book:
Notice the subject heading(s) that appear(s) in the section marked, "SUBJECT." Clicking on the subject heading will find other books on that subject.
To search in EBSCOhost from home, go to the Off-campus database page. You will need the barcode number from your I.D. card as a password.
