How to Find Trade Publications in EBSCOhost Databases

Choose your database from the list according to the discipline covered by the periodical you are seeking. For example, if the area is hospitality and tourism you would select Business Source Premier. After entering the database, click the picture EBSCOhost Publication link Publications link.

  1. A space will appear for you to type key words. Select "By Subject & Description" by clicking the appropriate button. (See illustration below.)
  2. Type your key word. In the example, we have typed "cater*" to find catering, caterer, etc. The asterisk (*) is a truncation character that simplifies searching by allowing alternate endings to a word.
  3. Click Browse. A list of magazine titles will appear. Those indicating that full text is available may be viewed online by clicking on the publication name.
  4. Note that the publications in Business Source Premier include industry and company profiles along with trade journals.

Finding Library Materials

Within the college district    Outside the college district

Within the college district

If you live in Marion, Polk, or Yamhill Counties (Oregon), you can use the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library System. In addition to the books in the Chemeketa College Library, the catalog also contains the collections of the 17 public libraries located in the regional library district. You can return our books to any public library in the CCRLS system.

To check out books from a CCRLS library you need a Chemeketa student I.D. card or a CCRLS public library card. Please contact the Bookstore in Building 1 for a student I.D. card. Bring your new ID to the library, next door in Building 9, so that we can enter your barcode into the system. After that, you will be able to use your I.D. card as a library card.

If the book you want is at another library in the system, it can be sent to one convenient for you.

To search in all libraries in the system at the same time, make sure that you choose "All CCRLS libraries" from the menu of library names.

Instructions for using the catalog and for requesting material are to be found on the Chemeketa Community College Library catalog page.

Electronic books are available through to Chemeketa students through NetLibrary.

If the material you want is not in your local library, you can click the "Summit" button in the library catalog, or search Summit directly. You can request books through Summit and pick them up at any one of 35 libraries in Oregon and Washington. For more information on Summit borrowing, see Borrowing Materials from Member Libraries.

If you do not find what you need in Summit, ask your local librarian to request an interlibrary loan. That way the book you need can be sent from Chemeketa or another library for you to check out and use locally.
