What is Literature Resource Center?

Literature Resource Center,  available to Chemeketa students and staff, consists of  criticism, biographies, bibliographies, work overviews and explications, Web sites, periodical articles, compare and contrast pages, full-text author's works, and reading lists.

Over 70,000 selected full-text critical essays and reviews from the following sources are included:

Access:  http://newterra.chemeketa.edu/library/information/database.htm. To access databases from off campus you will need your My Chemeketa user name and six-digit password.

Basic Searching

The Author Search is the default search.

The Biographies Tab is the default display when viewing results. Other Tabs include:

Mark List

You may also save up to 50 documents in a Mark List for reading in more detail later. Simply check the box next to the title in the Results List and click on the button "Update Mark List."

The documents you checked will be put in a Mark List and a new button will appear on the left side of the screen labeled "View Mark List." From within an article, check the box on the upper left of the screen labeled "Mark this document" and that article will be added to the Mark List automatically.

To print or email article an article

Click the "Print" link to reformat the article for printing. Then choose "Print" from your browser to print the document. Or click "E-mail" on the Literature Resource Center page and enter your address.

Other features

Literary-Historical Timeline displays dates for literary figures, movements, and historical events.
